May–OctCleaning season
Our season runs May to October

Soiling builds across the whole season

A module is a sheet of glass angled at the sky. Everything that lands on it stays there until someone takes it off, and every shaded cell drags down the string it sits in. We clean from May through October — here is what that window is up against.

May – June

Tree and grass pollen settles into a film that bakes on in the first warm spell and will not rinse away in the rain.

July – August

Dust and bird debris are at their heaviest. Droppings are opaque — they block a cell completely rather than just dimming it.

September – October

The close of the season. Sap, seed and the whole summer’s build-up come off while the light is still worth having.

November – April

We are out of season. Whatever is on the glass when we finish sits there until spring, through the shortest days of the year.

What we do

We don’t install solar. We protect what you already own.

Top Solar Energy LLC is a dedicated solar maintenance company — not an installer offering cleaning on the side. We specialize in keeping existing PV systems clean, documented, and properly maintained through professional module washing and preventative care.

A real job, start to finish

Soiled, cleaned, documented

As we found it

Bird debris and environmental build-up across every module. Each opaque spot takes its cell out of the picture entirely.

The clean

A long-reach water-fed pole covers the whole array. Solar-specific soft brush, pure water, low pressure — and Jesse keeps his weight on the roof deck, never on the glass.

Finished

Clear glass, no streaks, no residue. Pure water dries to a mineral-free finish, and the result is documented before we leave.

How it works

Four steps, no surprises

  1. 1

    Call, text or email

Reach Jesse on (224) 381-0384, or email topsolarenergyil@gmail.com. All three get the same answer. Tell him roughly how many modules you have and where the array sits.

  2. 2

    Get a price

He quotes on module count, height and how much has built up — a real number, not a range.

  3. 3

    We clean the array

Telescoping water-fed pole, solar-specific soft brush, purified water. Never a footstep on the modules, nothing abrasive on the glass.

  4. 4

    See the result

Photos of the finished array, plus a note about anything we spotted up there worth watching.

Why the pole matters

The pole does the reaching. The glass takes no weight.

Walking on modules risks micro-cracks in cells you cannot see, so it is the one thing we never do. Jesse works a telescoping water-fed pole from wherever the array can be reached safely — the ground on a low roof, the roof deck itself on a bigger one, and he is properly equipped either way. What touches your glass is a solar-specific soft brush and pure water, and nothing else.

  • No foot traffic on the modules themselves
  • No pressure washing, scrapers or abrasive pads
  • No abrasive chemicals or detergents left behind
  • Pure water dries clear, so there is nothing to wipe

Questions

Straight answers

Do you install solar?

No. Top Solar Energy LLC is a dedicated solar maintenance company — not an installer offering cleaning on the side. We look after PV systems that are already on the roof, so nobody here is going to try to sell you a system or a battery.

When is your cleaning season?

We clean from May through October. That window covers the spring pollen load and the heavy summer build-up, and it closes with an end-of-season visit that gets your modules clear before the short winter days. Booking early in the season is the easiest way to get the date you want.

How much does a cleaning cost?

It depends on the module count, the height of the array and how much has built up, so Jesse quotes each job rather than publishing a flat rate that would be wrong for most homes. Call or text and he will give you a real number.

Do you use chemicals?

No abrasive chemicals and no detergents. We clean with pure water and solar-specific soft brush heads — purified water lifts soiling on its own and dries to a mineral-free, residue-free finish rather than leaving the spotting tap water leaves.

Will you walk on my roof?

Sometimes, yes — plenty of arrays can only be reached safely from the roof deck, and Jesse is set up to work up there. What never happens is walking on the modules themselves: the long-reach pole exists so the glass never takes any weight.

How often should I have it done?

Once during the season suits most homes around here. Twice makes sense if your array sits under trees, near open fields, or anywhere birds gather — plenty of people book an early-season and an end-of-season visit together.

What areas do you cover?

Residential cleaning runs roughly 25 miles out from Wadsworth, stretching to about 27 at the far southern edge — 69 towns across Lake County, the North Shore, the northwest suburbs and eastern McHenry County. Commercial, community solar and ground-mount work is available throughout Illinois.
